For the very first time, the Money Saving Expert was in the hot seat of the BBC satire Show. After introducing the Show, Martin (51), immediately offered his tongue-in-cheek assessment of the government’s Rwanda policy.
Panelists Ignacio Lopez and Steph McGovern joined him.
Martin was, nevertheless, criticized by viewers mere minutes into his tenure as the host of the adored Show.
Audience members observing from their residences described him as “cringeworthy” and noted that he appeared to be “struggling.” An individual wrote: “Try having a laugh Martin Lewis your making the show flat.”
“It appears that Martin Lewis is hosting from outside his comfort zone,” said a second.
“The host should be capable of pronouncing the names correctly let alone matching the wit and humour of the other panellists,” according to another participant.
A fourth individual commented: “I usually like Martin Lewis … but that bit about his own website was just awful … cringeworthy stuff.” The host of Good Morning Britain confessed he was anxious to host HIGNFY prior to the Show airing.
He posted the following on X, which was formerly Twitter: “Okay, I’ve donned my flak jacket and am about to observe from the comfort of my couch; does anyone know where I can purchase skin thickener? “—- as I believe I require it.”Who knows what will be included in the Show, since we record for more than two hours? A terrifying experience to say the least.”
