Ryan Gosling traveled down memory lane and remembered his big-screen debut.
Going back to his 1996 film Frankenstein and Me, Gosling discussed collaborating with the late Burt Reynolds on his most recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday.
Ryan disclosed during the chat that the Deliverance star, who passed away in September 2018 at the age of 82, was crushing on his mom Donna, according to People Magazine.
Gosling said yes when the show host inquired if Burt Reynolds was amiable on set, but he conjectured that Reynolds’ friendliness may have come from his respect for his mom Donna.
“I felt he was drawn to me. He seemed to find something unique in me, I thought. Then it dawned on me that my mom is extremely lovely,” Gosling remarked.
He said, “He seemed merely a little curious. I seemed to be gaining a secondary brilliance. My mom was truly the star. And I said, “This is secondary shine.”
“How did you figure that out?” Kimmel asked, and Gosling remarked, “I wish I had found out sooner.”
Gosling also made it clear that his mom and Reynolds had no contact.
For the uninitiated, Reynolds played Les Williams and Gosling played Kenny in his movie debut.
Notably, Ryan Gosling’s next movie, The Fall Guy, is scheduled to open on May 3.
