Former lover Joe Alwyn on his relationship with Taylor Swift
Recently, Joe Alwyn broke his silence over his split from Taylor Swift.
Joe described his relationship with Taylor as “long, loving, and fully committed” in a recent interview with The Sunday Times. In reflecting on his split, the actor remarked, “I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years.”
“That is difficult to manage,” said the 33-year-old.
Giving more details about his feelings during the public split, Joe told the Times, “What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later, it’s suddenly in the public domain and the outside world can weigh in.”
“So, you have something very real suddenly tossed into a very unreal space: tabloids, social media, press, where it is then dissected, speculated on, pulled out of shape beyond recognition,” he said.
Joe stated, “To that last point, there will always be a gap between what is known and what is said. I can live with that.
In explaining why he kept their relationship’s specifics confidential, the actor said, “Taylor and I mutually decided to keep the details of our relationship private.”
“I see no reason to change that now; it was never something to commodify,” the actor declared.
Joe, meanwhile, disclosed that he is doing “really good” right now.
“I consider myself very fortunate to be in a wonderful place in my life, personally and professionally,” he said.
