As she wrote for Nine Travel, the Sydney-based mother of two reflected on her early years and clarified her position on taking her kids back to places.
Visiting the places of her upbringing, she added, helped kids create their memories and encouraged tradition.
“My excitement that my children were about to begin building their core holiday memories in the place where I forged mine powered my 5-kilometer jog back to Surfers Paradise,” wrote Jeffreys.
Sometimes the doctor just ordered a large dose of the “familiar,” she said.
The media celebrity also shared her opinions on how to combine kids’ entertainment with parent leisure.
“Successful family holidays depend on a little quid pro quo,” she said.
“We all know the balance tends to tip heavily in favor of individuals most likely to tantrum, but us mums and dads have got to take the wins where we can get them.”
