Jamie Foxx Unveils 20-Day Unconscious Battle with Mysterious Illness

“I now regard life differently. I now value my art more.

Jamie Foxx has at last candidly discussed the events behind his mysterious April 2023 hospitalization.

Filming “Back in Action” in Atlanta with Cameron Diaz, the 56-year-old actor was hospitalized for an unidentified medical incident. Later on, Foxx admitted he battled for his life and was left unable to walk and “saw the tunnel but not the light”.

Foxx videotaped in Phoenix sharing specifics of his medical issue with supporters; it began with “a bad headache” for which he sought Advil. Then he woke up about three weeks later, not remembering what had happened.

Oscar-winning artist Foxx said, “I was gone for twenty days,” snapping his fingers and drawing gasps from all around him. He said he “does not remember anything.”

The “Ray” star said his sister and daughter drove him to his first doctor, who then sent him to another one. Pointing at his head, the next doctor said, “Something is going on up there.”

“I won’t say it on camera,” he said afterward.

In his speech accepting his Vanguard Award, Jamie Foxx said what regarding his illness?

As Foxx discussed his near-death experience in December 2023, he revealed he “saw the tunnel but not the light”. This was his first public appearance following his unannounced medical crisis at the Critics Choice Association.

The actor gave a 12-minute statement honoring Black, Latino, and AAPI Achievements in Los Angeles earning the Vanguard Award at the association’s Celebration of Cinema & Television, clearly emotional.

According to Deadline, Foxx said that he had been unable to walk six months before. However, he chose not to divulge many specifics regarding the medical crisis that resulted in his hospitalization.

“You know, it’s crazy; I couldn’t do that six months ago,” he said as he moved across the stage to the microphone. I couldn’t walk.

“I want to thank everyone. He said, getting loud applause, “I’ve gone through something; I’ve gone through some things.”

“I cherish every single minute now — it’s different,” he said. “It’s difficult when it’s almost over when you see the tunnel; I would not wish what I went through on my dearest enemy. I saw the tunnel; I missed the light.

“It was hot in that tunnel too; I have no idea where I was headed. “S**t, am I headed to the correct location?”

In his 12-minute statement, he also poked fun at some of the baseless conspiracy theories that floated around while he was absent from public view for several months and hospitalized.

I am not a clone; neither am I. Many people I know were claiming I was cloned outside.

“I now value life differently. Towards the close of his address, he said, “I have a new respect for my art.”
