The first glimpse at Giancarlo Esposito as a new villain comes from Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World teaser.
Showcasing Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America and introducing Red Hulk to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Marvel Studios has unveiled the first teaser for “Captain America: Brave New World.” The trailer ends in a dramatic sequence whereby Red Hulk catches Captain America’s vibranium shield among Washington, D.C.’s cherry blossoms.
Following Chris Evans’s Steve Rogers in the Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” (2021), Mackie’s portrayal of Sam Wilson—who adopted the Captain America mantle—continues his adventure. Now heading his own Captain America film, Mackie offers a unique viewpoint on the legendary character.
Added to the film after recent reshoots, the trailer also shows a first view of Giancarlo Esposito in a mystery villain capacity. With Esposito’s character displaying an automatic assault rifle, the movie gains great dramatic action.

Because of his long-standing contempt for Bruce Banner, Thaddeus Ross transforms into the Red Hulk in the comics. Often adapting and reinterpreting comic book narratives, the MCU suggests possible film surprises.
“It made more sense for it to be more of a grounded espionage action movie as opposed to aliens and airplanes coming through portals and s—,” Anthony Mackie said in Entertainment Weekly on the film’s direction. This film allows Sam to establish himself as an Avenger and action star.
Danny Ramirez, slated to be the next Falcon, also makes a comeback in “Captain America: Brave New World”. Joaquin Torres The teaser suggests this transformation, showing another individual wearing a Falcon flight suit next to Mackie.
Shira Haas plays Ruth, a government officer, while returning characters Liv Tyler and Tim Blake Nelson play Betty Ross and Samuel Sterns (The Leader), from 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk.” Xosha Roquemore also stars in a mystery capacity.
Under Julius Onah’s direction, “Captain America: Brave New World” is scheduled for theater opening on February 14, 2025. The teaser guarantees an intense movie redefining the Marvel Universe’s future.
