Season three of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” is set to be released in summer 2025.
Jenny Han, creator and writer of The Summer I Turned Pretty, teased viewers with an exciting revelation regarding the show’s upcoming third season.
After production for the new season concluded, Han turned to Instagram Stories to tell fans what to expect.
“One thing I’ll say about season 3 of tsitp,” she wrote in a now-deleted story, adding that “there are no filler episodes.”
The Prime Video series, which debuted in 2022, tells the story of Belly (Lola Tung), a little girl who has a complicated relationship with two guys, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno).
The plot concentrates around Belly’s difficulties to cope with the complex relationship she has with the two Fisher brothers.
It is unclear if the upcoming season would be the last in the series based on Han’s novel of the same name. Han, on the other hand, stated that she will continue to focus on storytelling.
“My priority has always been that I want fans of the book to feel really satisfied by the story we’re telling,” she told Variety in an interview. “But also, for them to know that this is an adaptation in a new medium, so it’s not going to be exactly the same.”
The plot for the second season is believed to take place two years after the events of Season 2. The attention will be on the belly.
