Angelina Jolie Goes the Extra Mile for Her Role in ‘Stitches’: Mastering Two Languages On Set

Angelina Jolie is set to play a tough part in the new movie ‘Stitches’

Angelina Jolie has recently stepped out of her comfort zone to prepare for a new part in the upcoming film Stitches.

According to the Daily Mail, the Maria star challenged herself to learn a new language for the upcoming film.

Jolie, who has began production in Paris, must perform her lines in two languages for each scene because the film will be published in both languages.

Before working on Stitches, the 49-year-old actress demonstrated her French talents in the 2004 film Taking Lives, when she played Illeana.

The mother-of-six may be able to speak French well in the film since her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, was a natural French speaker.

This arose after she openly discussed her experience working on set with the eldest sons, claiming that they witnessed the agony she typically covers from them.

Jolie said: “The character [Maria Callas] has a lot of pain and they’ve of course seen me go through a lot of things, but they hadn’t experienced me expressing a lot of the pain that usually a parent hides from a child.”

“So, they were there to witness some of that, but then we would hug or they would bring me cups of tea,” the Oscar-winning actress explained.

For those unfamiliar, Jolie’s boys, Maddox and Pax, who she shares with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, previously worked as production assistants in the film Maria.
