Aaron Taylor-johnson’s two-year drinking restriction in Kraven the Hunter
Aaron Taylor-Johnson has revealed the remarkable lengths he went to prepare for his role as Kraven the Hunter, including abstaining from alcohol for two years to obtain the sculpted figure seen in the film.
The 34-year-old actor plays the titular anti-hero in the latest Marvel film rooted in Spider-Man’s universe, which delves into the origins of one of the superhero’s most formidable foes.
During an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday night, he discussed how he committed to a tough training routine and diet plan to truly portray his character fully.
“There was six months of intense training for this,” he explained. “I had an amazing trainer and a very strict diet—no pizza, no pasta, and absolutely no alcohol for two years while working on this movie.”
Reflecting on his strict approach, he stated, “After filming was completed, I treated myself. I enjoyed a whole pizza and a properly poured ice-cold beer. It was the finest thing I had ever tasted.”
The actor described the aftermath of finally breaking his diet: “Soon after, I looked like a balloon—my stomach just wasn’t used to it!”
Fans have already been treated to a thrilling first look at Kraven the Hunter, which depicts Aaron’s transformation into the complex and vengeful antihero.
The first eight minutes of the video, which was released last week, show Kraven disguised as a Russian felon on a risky bus voyage to prison, laying the groundwork for the character’s captivating origin story.
