Ariana Grande’s Tattoos: Expert Reveals the Deep Meaning Behind Them

Ariana Grande pays tribute to her ‘Wicked’ character through a tattoo.

Ariana Grande appears to hold her precious memories by having tattoos of them, as she currently has 61 pieces of body art.

The 32-year-old Side to Side singer got multiple tattoos in honor of her ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson and former spouse Dalton Gomez, but she has since covered up most of them following their breakup and divorce.

The butterfly tattoos on the star’s upper arms appear the most mysterious to admirers, as they are sometimes covered with makeup and sometimes not. The butterflies on her arms appeared faded at the Met Gala and were entirely gone while filmed Wicked.

However, the “We Can’t Be Friends” singer revealed in September, during a makeup video for Vogue, that she had added a butterfly to her tattoo as a tribute to her Wicked character Glinda.

She called the experience “deeply special and transformative” when filming the two-part film during her divorce from then-husband Dalton Gomez.

Relationship specialist Louella Alderson told The Mirror that the singer’s tattoos likely express her love and appreciation for the great experience she had during shooting. Ariana’s Glinda tattoo may serve as an artistic reminder of her personal growth.
