Barry Keoghan discusses filming a rare moment in ‘Saltburn’.
Barry Keoghan revealed some interesting details about the cinephiles’ favorite film of last year, Saltburn.
The film, which includes some really daring scenes, appears to have been shot without the use of any prosthetics, according to Keoghan on The Louis Theroux Podcast on Monday, November 4th.
The host addressed speculations that prosthetics were employed to “enhance” the dancing scene near the end of the film, but Keoghan denied that this occurred.
“Enhanced? Who said that? “Nah, wow,” he explained.
“It was all me. “I didn’t really bat an eyelid about it, but I would bat an eyelid if it didn’t fit the story.”
The controversial scene saw the 32-year-old actor’s character dancing after acquiring a long-coveted mansion.
The actor from Banshees of Inisherin remarked that the moment required such a daring deed to highlight the character’s ownership more evidently.
“He’s kind of got this mansion at the end, it’s his space. And when you have that space … we all do it at home: we walk around naked, do you know what I mean? Because we’re comfy and this is our environment” he explained.
The father of one expressed admiration for the scene, saying, “It’s just beautiful to look at that […] but to watch the body of someone run through rooms like that, it’s like a painting almost.”
The actor previously told EW that he was hesitation at first, but then “it felt right.”
Sharing how he overcame the discomfort, he added, “You kind of forget about it because the environment is so comfortable. It gives you the freedom to say, ‘Alright, now it’s all about the story.’”
