Bill Maher Predicts Split: “Travis Kelce Will Dump Taylor Swift”

In an interview with the ‘Hawk Tuah Girl,’ the comedian described Swift’s relationship as ‘tacky.’

Comedian Bill Maher did not hold back when discussing Taylor Swift’s personal and professional life in a recent episode of his podcast.

Maher, 68, spoke with 23-year-old Hailey Welch, also known as the ‘Hawk Tuah Girl’. During the talk, Maher predicted a terrible future for Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

“He’s gonna dump her, though. You know that,” Maher commented, adding, “With her, it’s like the Gatorade at the Super Bowl, you know you’re gonna get dumped.”

Swift, 34, has been in a relationship with Kelce for about a year and announced their relationship in December 2023.

Despite her enthusiastic support for Kelce, which included attending multiple Chiefs games and the Super Bowl, Maher disregarded her actions as unremarkable. I just felt like 35 was a little old to be like, ‘My boyfriend’s a football player and I wear his jersey to the game with his number on it!’ Right? I mean, come on,” he said.

Welch, who rose to fame after a viral interview this summer, backed Swift, arguing that she should do whatever makes her happy. Welch also claimed that Swift would write a new album on her current relationship, drawing on previous singles inspired by her exes.

Maher called Swift’s songwriting about personal relationships “tacky,” but admitted that it is part of her creative process. “You can’t control what the muse says to you. She’s a songwriter. “I can’t fault her for that,” Maher admitted.

In February, Maher warned that Swift’s earlier support for the Democrats could influence the 2016 presidential election, citing her impact on voter registration. “This is a person who could literally swing the election,” he said on his Real Time podcast.

Swift’s capacity to mobilize her audience is clear, particularly after she encouraged voter registration last September.
