Michael Strahan, the celebrated former NFL star and current television host, recently had a pleasantly surprising encounter on his game show, ABC’s “The $100,000 Pyramid.” At 51, Strahan has been the face of the show since its revival over five years ago. In addition to hosting duties, he is also a familiar presence as a co-host on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and a commentator on Fox NFL Sunday. Despite taking a break from these roles due to personal family matters, Strahan continued to feature on “Pyramid” due to the episodes being pre-recorded.
A notable episode of “Pyramid” included a contestant named Analise from Pacifica, California. She caught Strahan’s attention with her custom-painted Converse shoes, adorned with his smiling face. Strahan was visibly taken aback by the artistry, specifically noting how well the artist captured his likeness, including the iconic gap in his teeth. Analise, an artist by profession, shared that she created the shoes to help herself get in the right mindset for the show. This unique footwear appeared to bring luck, as Analise, teamed with actor Michael Urie, advanced to the winner’s circle, ultimately leaving the show with $11,500. “Strahan said as he marveled at the colorful kicks,” expressing his admiration for the personalized and creative gesture.
Outside his television roles, Strahan is engaged in various business ventures. One notable endeavor is his fashion line, “The Collection by Michael Strahan,” which offers stylish suits for men, available at JCPenney. Rob Gronkowski, Strahan’s colleague and former sports rival, recently showcased a suit from this collection.
Strahan, who had been absent from his TV roles since October 26, recently returned. His absence spanned two weeks from “Good Morning America” and two episodes of Fox NFL Sunday. He made his return during the Week 10 games, which included a special Veteran’s Day program broadcast from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado. Following his typical schedule, Strahan did not appear on the November 20 episode of “Good Morning America” after his appearance on the Fox NFL show. He is expected to return to “Good Morning America” multiple times before the Thanksgiving holiday.
“The $100,000 Pyramid” is scheduled to air on Wednesdays at 10/9c on ABC.
