Chappell Roan returns to the stage and mesmerizes the audience with a rendition of an old classic.
Following the cancellation of two of her shows, Chappell Roan returned to the stage to carry on with her Midwest Princess Tour.
On Thursday, October 3rd, the Hot To Go! the singer stunned her audience at Westfair Amphitheatre in Iowa by performing a rendition of Heart’s 1977 hit song Barracuda.
A People Magazine reports states that the unexpected performance occurred midway through her typical set list, between her songs Picture You and Hot to Go!, and was greeted with surprise and applause.
The VMA winner wore a red leotard while the band played live in the backdrop and the singer sang as the stage lit up in shades of red and yellow.
Despite this being the singer’s first time performing Barracuda, the 26-year-old had previously covered other beloved songs on her own YouTube channel, such as Dreams by Fleetwood Mac, Your Song by Elton John, and What’s Up? by 4 Non Blondes.
Before this performance, throughout her tour, the Casual singer covered other popular songs like Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance and The Cranberries’ Dreams.
Some other singers, including Kelly Clarkson, Laufey, and Sabrina Carpenter, have shown favoritism towards Roan’s songs, which they have played live at their shows.
In June of this year, the Espresso vocalist gave a rendition of Good Luck, Babe! for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
This year, Roan and Carpenter have both achieved breakthrough success on the charts. Before rising to the top, Roan was closely trailing Carpenter on the Billboard Hot 200 chart, according to the latest revisions this week.
This comes after the singer of Femininomenon canceled two of her gigs the previous week. The performer mentioned mental health as a reason for the cancellation.
