Chris Martin Says ‘Coldplay’ Needs to Hear Some ‘Criticism’ to Stay Grounded

Chris Martin is aware that Coldplay has ‘haters.’

Coldplay, a popular rock band, has fans and detractors who find every reason to criticize them.

Frontman Chris Martin recently expressed his hatred at the band’s handling.

According to the Fix You singer, the band needs to occasionally hear some criticism.

Chris opened his talk with Rolling Stone for their January 2025 cover interview by saying it would have been strange ‘if we all lived in a society where everyone had to like the same things.’

The 47-year-old is aware that Coldplay is a popular and safe target for haters.

“We’re four white middle-class men from England. We deserve to accept some heat for what our people have done. There’s a reason we get to play all over the world, and some of it isn’t necessarily healthy.”

On a personal level, Martin adds, “There aren’t that many [groups] that get to champion that ideology to that many people.” “So we do it.”

“I too need to hear that. So that I do not give up and become bitter and twisted, hiding away and hating everybody. “I don’t want to do that, but it’s so tempting,” said A Sky Full of Stars’ vocalist.

Renowned English band established in 1997 has wowed the world with their heartfelt songs and energetic performances. Coldplay has consistently broken and set new records since its inception.

Their newest ‘Moon of the Spheres’ tour broke all previous records by selling the most tickets in history.
