Frank Clark is about to don the familiar blue and green again.
The renowned pass rusher, boasting three Pro Bowl appearances under his belt, is on the cusp of rejoining the Seattle Seahawks, pending a successful physical. This exciting update was shared on Wednesday by esteemed sources Josina Anderson from CBS Sports and Ian Rapoport from NFL Network.
Clark’s football journey commenced with the Seahawks, who drafted him in the 2015 NFL draft’s second round following his stellar performances at Michigan. After dedicating four fruitful seasons to Seattle, Clark transitioned to the Kansas City Chiefs, clinching two Super Bowl titles. His recent stint was with the Denver Broncos, but it was short-lived. Although he played just a pair of games this season and registered two tackles, the Broncos opted to release him.
Recalling his golden days with the Chiefs, Clark was instrumental in their Super Bowl triumph last year, accumulating 39 tackles and five sacks. However, it’s his tenure with the Seahawks that witnessed his peak prowess. In 2016, he notched 47 tackles and 10 sacks, while 2018 saw him amass 41 tackles and a whopping 13 sacks. With linebacker Uchenna Nwosu sidelined due to a probable pectoral surgery, as mentioned by head coach Pete Carroll, Clark’s return seems timely.
Another intriguing storyline is Clark’s reunion with the illustrious linebacker, Bobby Wagner. Wagner, after a brief detour with the Los Angeles Rams, returned to the Seahawks fold this season. His current form is evident with 63 tackles in just seven games, placing him 10th in the league. Additionally, his contribution of two sacks has been pivotal as the Seahawks currently sport a 4-2 record.
Football aficionados are eagerly anticipating the upcoming match where Seattle will welcome the Cleveland Browns this Sunday.
