‘X-Men’ actor Ian McKellen will share with James Cordon in the new film.
James Cordon, the former host of The Late Late Show, has been hired for another project following Gaven & Stacey.
This time, the comic will appear in the latest film from acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh.
The Christophers, a dark comedy, is being developed by the creator of Ocean’s Thirteen.
According to Deadline, the upcoming movie will also star Michaela Coel, known for I May Destroy You, and Ian McKellen, famed for his role in The Lord of the Rings.
The plot of the all-new project will revolve around two children who engage in forgeries in order to profit off their retired artist father’s unfinished works.
The Christophers production is slated to begin in February 2025, two months after the release of the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special.
When discussing the upcoming Christmas special, James told Big Issue, “What people are going to see on Christmas Day is the culmination of a 20-year love story, which hopefully shows, if nothing else, that love is complicated, messy, and for everyone.”
Cordon has another exciting project in the works besides Soderbergh’s new film. The 46-year-old actor will also play a key role in the upcoming Smurfs film, which will be released in theaters next July.
