Jennifer Lopez discusses her role in Ben Affleck’s ‘Unstoppable’
Jennifer Lopez is giving an inside look into parenthood at a London screening event, explaining why women hide their hardships from their children.
The 55-year-old American actress, who recently attended the London premiere of Ben Affleck’s upcoming film Unstoppable at Cineworld Leicester Square, spoke about her role as the film’s’smaller character’.
Speaking about ‘challenges,’ JLo stated that the film is ‘ very relatable’ to women going through tumultuous relationships.
The Boy Next Door alum focused on her role as Judy Robles, who became a mother at the age of 16.
Jennifer expressed delight in playing Judy, the mother of wrestling champion Anthony Robles, who overcame the odds of being born with one leg to become a champion and author, citing his mother’s ‘unstoppable’ spirit as a driving force behind his success.
She stated of her much-anticipated part, “I believe many women have gone through it, and she (Judy) and I talked a lot.
“We got to know each other. I wanted her to feel safe with me (while) sharing details, because as great as the story is, without the struggle, that’s what makes it great.”
The mother-of-two went on to say, “There was a whole new story there that she was living, that you keep from your children, and you protect your children from that.
“But I thought it was important to not just play the mom who the kids knew but to play the woman who raised these children.”
As a mother herself, the multi-hyphenate diva characterized it as a wonderful experience.
