At ‘Kinds of Kindness‘ premiere, Jesse Plemons makes his 50-pound loss debut.
When “Kinds of Kindness” premiered in New York City on June 20 at the Museum of Modern Art, Jesse Plemons flaunted his recent weight loss. With his wife Kirsten Dunst at his side, the 36-year-old actor disclosed that he had dropped 50 pounds in the last 15 months.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Plemons credited his children, James, three, and Ennis, six, for his health journey. “I have to keep up with them since, as I’ve said, I have little kids and I have much more energy [now],” he declared. Plemons added that his weight loss had practical benefits as well: “Well, I’m not lugging 50 more pounds around.”
Plemons dressed in black leather shoes and a fitted black suit complete with a white button-down shirt for the event. Asymmetrical neckline, tight waist, and embroidered blossoms adorned Dunst’s pale yellow silk gown. Diamond stud earrings, rich red lipstick, loose hair, and Old Hollywood glam styling completed her ensemble.
Plemons’ co-star Emma Stone also attended the premiere, donning a long-sleeve black gown with elaborate cutouts and embellishments. Soft pink makeup, diamond stud earrings, and black strappy shoes finished Stone’s ensemble.
Known for putting on weight for his part as Boston mobster Kevin Weeks in “Black Mass” (2015), Plemons revealed that aging and his part in the upcoming thriller “Civil War” were the main factors behind his recent fitness quest. “There was a part that I did that in my mind I could not picture him as the size that I was,” he said. He said intermittent fasting worked well for him and improved his health. “I just gave it a shot and [was] surprised at how quickly it was effective,” he said, “after several people talked to me about intermittent fasting.”
Plemons also expressed worry over his most recent performance in Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Kinds of Kindness.” Though he was afraid the director might have preferred his earlier, bulkier look, his thinner physique proved to be ideal for the film.
