On October 4, 2024, “Joker: Folie à Deux” was released in theaters.
Oscar-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix, who played the Joker in Joker: Folie à Deux, has found comfort in the movie’s conclusion, despite the fact that the majority of critics and fans are dissatisfied with it.
The man himself has now expressed gratitude for the Joker 2 closing scene, which was the most contentious and became the talk of the town.
Phoenix addressed the contentious scene in an interview with IGN, stating, “There’s a warmth in that [death] scene, which is nice.”
He continued, saying, “That’s all that I was thinking about that I was after, is here’s this young man who’s telling me a joke and he’s nervous to tell me the joke, I can tell that he’s nervous, and I’m going to hear him out. And it’s a pretty good setup.”
According to Dexerto, the Joker 2 final scene depicts Arthur Fleck—who was found guilty of all the crimes he committed in the first movie—being killed by another prisoner at the Arkham Asylum.
In agreement with the Grammy Award winner, director Todd Philips remarks, “I think Joaquin is so beautiful in that scene.” It really is nothing at all. Beyond the death thing, that is.
He went on to defend the scene by stating: “That moment where he’s looking at the kid and he’s kind of giving the kid a polite laugh in the setup. He’s showing appreciation for the comedy and appreciation for putting yourself out there.”
‘Joker’s’ admirers were not as positivist as the movie’s star and director.
On October 4, 2024, Joker: Folie à Deux will be released in theaters. It didn’t get the kind of praise and acknowledgment that its creators had hoped for.
