The much-anticipated album emerges suddenly after the release of the single “Slide.”
Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign have surprised fans with the release of their new album “Vultures 2” on digital streaming platforms (DSPs).
This release came just hours after they debuted the track “Slide” on yeezy.com and live-streamed the complete album on YouTube.
This week has seen a lot of hype about “Vultures 2,” especially after West’s website intimated that the album will be released today.
However, the release date was quickly pulled from the website, prompting fans and media to speculate on more delays.
The wait ended with the release of “Slide” and the whole album, which contains previously teased tracks like “River” and “Time Moving Slow.”
“Slide” was first heard in September 2023 at a listening session hosted by West and Ty at Le Baroque in Geneva, Switzerland.
Fred Again.. later performed the track at his Shrine Expo Hall performances in Los Angeles.
“This is madness for me, I made it with my brother Ty a few months ago,” Fred stated at the time.
The song was performed again in December 2023 at the Vultures Rave in Miami, prompting speculation of a James Blake collaboration based on a tracklist on North West’s shirt.
The contributors to the final version have yet to be confirmed.
The path to “Vultures 2” has been long and twisted.
West said in January that it will be the second installment of a trilogy of albums.
“Vultures 1” was launched on February 10, and the follow-up was scheduled for March 8.
However, following multiple delays and social media teases, including a May 3 release date that never materialized, many fans questioned whether the album would ever see the light of day.
The scheduling and subsequent cancellation of hearing events around the world further lowered expectations.
