Following her recent private listening sessions for her sixth album, Katy Perry formally revealed that “Woman’s World,” the project’s first single, will be released next month.
The pop artist will release “Woman’s World” on July 11 at 7 p.m. ET. The official video will be released the next day. She also unveiled the lone cover photo, which was taken by Jack Bridgland and shows her in a bikini top and metallic armor-like leggings. Her sixth album is yet untitled and has no release date, hence details are few.
Perry released “Smile,” which debuted in August 2020, about four years ago. With a start at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, that album—which included the title song and “Daisies” among other singles—became her worst-performing record in years. Since “Smile,” Perry has been in Las Vegas for her Play residency, which took place from 2021 to 2023. Her upcoming era was hinted at in the last concert, which happened last November when the words “See you next year” flashed on a screen.
Outside of music, Katy Perry has been busy judging “American Idol” for seven seasons. She declared in February that this would be her last season on the show, and she left in May. She sold her catalog in September for $255 million to Litmus Music, the Carlyle-backed startup that will debut in 2022 and which also bought Keith Urban’s master recording rights.
