Kevin Costner told the story of how he learned to trust his fans.
Kevin Costner has been through some tough times in his life, like a nasty split from his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner, but he still has a lot of faith in himself.
Now he has talked about what philosophy does to make him so sure of his trust in life.
For the cover story of People Magazine, the star talked about how he failed a lot of schoolwork and felt lost while he was there.
In the last few weeks of college, he told himself, “I’m not going to worry about what other people think anymore.” This gave him courage.
Even though I didn’t know for sure if I would succeed, a big weight lifted off my shoulders. I began going to Hollywood every day… Chris Hemsworth said, “I didn’t know anyone.”
Soon, he started getting parts and hit movies like Silverado, Bull Durham, The Untouchables, and Field of Dreams helped him become a leading man very fast.
Before he directed his first movie, Dances with Wolves, the star had won the Oscars for both Best Picture and Best Director in 1991, which fired up his love even more.
It was at that point that he gained another kind of trust from his crowds.
Kevin Costner told the story by saying, “You’re in a storm and you’re the only one up on deck holding the wheel.”
“It’s just that the rain and salt water were getting into your eyes, and you couldn’t let go of the wheel…” “I can’t seem to let go of the wheel,” he said in the end.
