Lady Gaga Credits Fiancé Michael Polansky for Pulling Her Out of Dark Times: ‘He Held My Hand’

Lady Gaga discusses her mental health difficulties before meeting Michael Polansky.

Lady Gaga recently honored her fiancé Michael Polansky, saying he “held her hand” through a terrible time.

In a recent interview with Vogue, the Joker star stated, “I had never met somebody like Michael. “He’s so smart and kind.”

“And his life and my life are very different,” the 38-year-old added.

Gaga stated: “He’s a very private guy and he’s not with me for any other reason than that we are right for each other.”

The musician, who made her romance official on Instagram in early 2020, told the outlet, “I think what I want my fans to know is that I’m just, like, so happy. I’m healthy.”

Gaga reflected on her mental health difficulties, saying, “I feel like the last time my fans heard from me—in this way—was Chromatica, and that album was about an absolutely horrible time for me with my mental health. I was in a really dark place.

I struggled for, like, many years before that. But everything started to change,” the singer-songwriter explained.

Gaga stated, “Because I had a real friend who saw the ways in which I was unhappy and why. And he wasn’t afraid to truly hold my hand. And get to know me. On a very deep level.”

During the interview, the musician also mentioned that her relationship with Polansky helped her “find balance” in life.

“The missing piece in my life was having real love,” she told me.
