Someone encouraged Lana Del Rey to make the bold decision to marry her partner.
Speaking openly, Lana Del Rey discussed her marriage and the “big reason” it took so long.
The singer of “Young and Beautiful” said that she owes music producer Jack Antonoff for encouraging her to take the leap of faith by providing the “example” for a happy marriage.
At Variety’s eighth annual Hitmakers event, she handed Antonoff the Producer of the Decade Award. She remarked, “I’m grateful for [Antonoff] for the example he gave me in his marriage to [Margaret Qualley].”
She said, “He’s a big reason why I waited so long to get married and met my amazing husband. I saw the way he looked at her when he met her.”
The 39-year-old performer continued by talking about how difficult it is for musicians to find the right companion, referring to it as a “singer’s curse.”
The Cinnamon Girl crooner remarked, “I feel like there’s a singers’ curse around meeting an honest partner who has no skin in the game, no dog in the race,”
On September 26, 2024, Del Rey married Jeremy Dufrene, whom she had first met in 2019, in a small ceremony.
The Summertime Sadness singer touched on the pressure to uphold one’s beliefs in a field “where maybe your values and your morals don’t quite match up” in other parts of her speech.
On May 21, 2025, Del Rey’s tenth studio album, The Right Person Will Stay, which seems to be a reference to her romantic life, will be released.
