Disney unveils a first behind-the-scenes peek at the next film
Reunited at last on the Freaky Friday 2 set are Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Disney has unveiled a first behind-the-scenes look at Freaky Friday 2, which is formally now filming, in the image published by Variety.
According to the source, Disney has not yet disclosed the plot of the 2003 film’s sequel.
The studio has purportedly stated, though, that Freaky Friday 2 will premiere in movie theaters in 2025. Lindsay and Jamie will play Tess Coleman and Anna again, respectively.
Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao are among the other cast members of the sequel.
Further additions to the new cast are Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons. Disney formally revealed that a sequel was being worked on in 2023.
Surprisingly, the film will be directed by Nisha Ganatra, who has previously worked on films like Late Night and The High Note.
Jamie, meantime, brought up the second Freaky Friday film first.
She directly “written to Disney” about wanting to do the sequel, she said to The View in October 2022.
For the uninitiated, former Disney executive Kristin Burr and producer Andrew Gunn of the first film return for this one.
