Machine Gun Kelly Opens Up About Dark Family Secret and Father’s Tragic Past

Machine Gun Kelly muses on his relationship with his father during the Dumb Blonde podcast.

Machine Gun Kelly speaks openly about his family’s dark past.

On the newest episode of Jelly Roll’s wife Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast, MGK revealed his late father’s secret, which was tied to the rapper’s grandfather’s death.

“The story that was always told to me was that their dad dropped the gun, and his head essentially blew off,” according to the presenter.

Kelly went on, “It all happened in the room with my dad at nine years old.”

The rapper revealed that both his father and grandmother were tried for the crime, but they were “both acquitted”.

MGK said he would often “get so mad” with his father, who died in July 2019.

“He was freak out if he heard a loud noise or boom, however he has since grown to better understand his father,” the rap artist said.

Kelly persisted, “I would say, ‘You’re supposed to be a man, dude.'” Why are you acting like this? … that only made me despise my father.”

The artist went on: “Then, you sit there, and you think about a kid who was on trial at nine years old for the murder of his father.”

Kelly explained, “We think that they know everything because we grew up looking up at them. But we’re all just lost and trying to figure it out.
