Pete Davidson Reveals Major Career Shift: ‘I Just Want to Be Known for Good Work’

Pete Davidson has decided to go private following their public dating past.

Pete Davidson has opted to move away from the spotlight.

In a recent interview with W Magazine, the Saturday Night Live alum explained his choice to go private after receiving excessive media attention that nearly “destroyed” his life.

“I just want to be known for doing good work,” he admitted. “I want to be out there solely for movies, stand-up, charity, or commercial initiatives. “That’s when I want to be seen.”

Due to his high-profile relationships with celebrities such as Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, and Madelyn Cline, the comedian and actor has spoken out about the toll that relentless media attention has put on him.

“I don’t want to be this fucking loser who just dates people,” he explained, adding, “That’s not who I am. But nowadays, many despise celebrities.

In addition to addressing the public’s focus on his high-profile relationship, Davidson, 31, chastised the media for exaggerating criticism.

“The media takes a handful of celebs every couple of years, and they just destroy them. For some reason, I’m one of the people they chose to go after,” he explained.

Despite the difficulties, Davidson sees a bright side: It helps him to “take a step back and evaluate things.”

Now, the Bupkis actor claims he is in a much better position.

“I’m very happy where I am right now, mentally,” he said, characterizing his journey as “hit on the face with the Hollywood shovel” but eventually finding clarity.
