“Good Morning America” host Robin Roberts, alongside her wife Amber Laign, concluded a celebratory tour this weekend in New Orleans, marking their recent marriage. The couple, who have been partners for a significant period, chose this vibrant city for one of their celebratory events.
A native of Pass Christian, Roberts was seen enjoying an evening of dance and joy with her wife Amber Laign and their closest family members on Saturday, as revealed in a video posted on her Instagram. The celebration was heightened by the spirited performance of the Krewe of Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club, who joined the newlyweds in a classic second-line performance, a hallmark of New Orleans culture. The event, infused with familial warmth and joy, was hosted by Robin’s siblings.
Roberts and Laign tied the knot on September 9 in Connecticut, in a ceremony attended by about 250 guests, marking a milestone in their long-standing relationship.
Robin Roberts, who grew up in Pass Christian, has maintained a deep connection with the Mississippi Coast and the New Orleans area. Her sister, Sally-Ann Roberts, carved her own path in journalism with a long tenure at WWL-TV. Robin herself embarked on her illustrious journalism career at WLOX-TV in Biloxi. Adding to the family’s local presence, Dorothy Roberts owns a Pass Christian gift shop aptly named Robin’s Nest in honor of her sister and has also established Roberts Place Café nearby.
This event not only celebrates the union of Robin Roberts and her wife Amber Laign but also reflects her enduring ties to her roots in the Gulf Coast region, a testament to her personal and professional journey.
