After making a fleeting appearance in the pilot episode, Selena Gomez hinted that “Alex is coming back sooner than you think.”
Selena Gomez has yet to stop being Alex Russo.
The 32-year-old singer and actress revealed that her beloved character will return soon after appearing an appearance in the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place pilot.
On Tuesday, November 12, the star of Only Murders in the Building celebrated the show’s record-breaking Disney+ viewership by sharing the news on her Instagram Stories.
She replied, “Don’t worry, Alex is coming back sooner than you think,” and included a screenshot of the viewership data. “You all made this possible.”
Gomez thanked the show for bringing her back to the role that started her career at its October debut. “Bringing this back for you and for people who have never seen it before is the best feeling in the world,” she remarked. “I was genuinely delighted to simply revive the feeling of nostalgia.”
“This is what gave me everything that I have today, and I’ll never forget that this is where I started,” the Emilia Perez actress continued, reflecting on her path.
Until his sister Alex arrives with young magician Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown) in tow, hoping Justin will teach her, the new series revolves around Alex’s brother Justin Russo (David Henrie), who has given up magic for a “normal, mortal life.”
In order to preserve the future of the Wizard World, the first episode prepares Justin to return to his magical roots while juggling mentoring with his daily life.
