Severe Weather Forces Evacuation at Lana Del Rey’s Fenway Park Concert

To accompany her were special guests Quavo, Stephen Sanchez, and Mason Ramsey.

Fans of Lana Del Rey were disappointed when severe weather and thunderstorms forced them to leave her first-ever stadium show at Boston’s Fenway Park.

Though bad weather caused major delays, the 38-year-old singer was ready to perform on Thursday night. The show was rescheduled for 10:30 p.m. from its original 8:30 p.m. start.

A notice on displays alerting spectators to the delay encouraged them to vacate the stadium’s field until the rain stopped. “There will be a delay in tonight’s performance due to pending weather,” the notice said.

“All fans must right away abandon the open air and field sitting areas and get inside the stadium concourse for cover. Kindly take your time gathering everyone in your party and move steadily onto the stadium concourse.”

Following the fans evacuating Fenway Park officials warned against entering before eventually letting them back in. Then Lana Del Rey asked her followers on Instagram story if they would rather have the show postponed or started later.

She asked, next to a photo of pink flowers, “Do you want a one-hour show tonight if it’s feasible and the lightning stops? compared to Saturday’s two-hour performance.

I’m down here at the bottom of Fenway, fellas. Everyone is here; they just cleared the stage,” she wrote on her Instagram story. We must thus wait twenty minutes each time lightning hits, and it just keeps striking.

We therefore intended to do an hour-long show and to repopulate the space by 10 o’clock. That is our very minimal expectation. In the worst situation, we move to Saturday. I’m down here hoping with all the girls, so I’m crossing my fingers.”

Fortunately, Lana made it onto the stage safely and sang 15 songs for her admirers. She also thrilled the crowd toward the conclusion of the evening by extending an invitation to Quavo, Stephen Sanchez, and Mason Ramsey.
