The actress declared lately that because her ex-husband is “gone,” she is giving her ink new meaning.
Looking forward, Sofía Vergara is optimistic about her love life.
The 51-year-old Modern Family alum stated on a May 31 episode of The Talk that she has given a tattoo that was once honoring her ex-husband Joe Manganiello new significance. After seven years of marriage, the two declared their separation in July 2023 and formalized their divorce this past February.
The revelation came when Sofia Vergara’s son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, a guest on the show as well, teased her for having two tattoos while she mocked him for having 34 of his own. Concerning her new partner, orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman, she added, “How lucky can I be that the guy that I’m going out [with] has the same initial.” To further add to the playful humor, she stated she would just “recycle” the tattoo.
First reported in October 2023, Vergara and Saliman were “dating and having fun,” according to a source who informed PEOPLE.
Vergara was reticent about her new romance when she spoke with PEOPLE for her Beautiful Issue cover story. When it came to outlining what she was now seeking in love, though, she was far more forthright.
Money. Health. Pleasure. Along with children. That’s all, she remarked, adding that she doesn’t intend to have any more children of her own. The actress has been upfront about the choice and how it strained her relationship with Manganiello.
“There are things in life that sound like good ideas, but they’re not,” she said. “I had already given birth. I am aware of the difficulty and sacrifices involved in trying to be the best mother one can be.
