After over 10 years, Suki Waterhouse is at last sharing about her complicated relationship with Bradley Cooper.
The 32-year-old singer drew close attention to her romance with the actor, now 49 when she was just 21. 2015 saw the couple call it quits at last.
Speaking in the most recent issue of British Vogue, Suki noted that the “dark and difficult” reality behind the relationship left her feeling “punished.”
She said to the source, “I really will say that I’m pretty strong at this point, but when something very public happens to you and the story behind it is dark and difficult, you’re not doing well and you can’t explain yourself to the world, that’s very isolating and disorientating.”
The Daisy Jones & the Six actress said, “It probably has taken a decade to work myself out and actually be able to have this expansion in my life.”
Waterhouse then expressed thanks for her present love life with beau Robert Pattinson, saying she believes past pain “always stays in you.”
“Your 20s seem to be melancholy. The love I went through [then] was merely a fetishisation; I believe that you only get punished when you only get loved in that sense.
“You almost instantly receive a little bit more respect when you enter your 30s. The multi-hyphenate celebrity also said, “It’s kind of delightful and shocking at the same time.”
