Christine Applegate’s Daughter Sadie Shares Her Struggle with POTS on MeSsy Podcast

Sadie, the daughter of Christine Applegate, talks about her newfound knowledge of her mother’s illness.

Christine Applegate and her 13-year-old daughter Sadie disclosed that the latter had just received a POTS diagnosis.

On the Tuesday episode of Applegate’s MeSsy podcast, the daughter of the Married… With Children, the actress was open about her diagnosis and said she now knows more about her mother’s struggle with multiple sclerosis.

“I have something called POTS,” Sadie said. “It has something to do with the autonomic nervous system and affects my heart, but I have no idea what it is really. My legs become weak and I feel like I’m going to pass out when I stand up.

“Autonomic nervous system, which regulates involuntary body functions like heart rate and blood pressure, is affected by postural tachycardia syndrome,” states Mayo Clinic.

The nerves that control blood flow are out of balance in postural tachycardia syndrome, which prevents enough blood from flowing where it is needed at the proper moment. A range of symptoms follow, including an abnormally fast heartbeat when getting up from a lying position.

It pains me for you, my sweetheart. I truly feel sorry for you, Applegate told her daughter.

This depresses me. But you have my love and I have faith that everything will work out. And I believe you and am here for you. And I appreciate you raising this to notice and awareness.
