Scott Stapp and Jaclyn Stapp were wed on February 11, 2006.
Famously known as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the rock band Creed, Scott Strap and his 18-year-old wife are splitting up.
A representative for Strap confirmed the news to PEOPLE Magazine on Friday, May 10, asking for some privacy for the split. A representative for the musician said, “Scott intends to navigate this difficult time privately out of respect for their family.”
The pair, according to an insider, tried to work things out but, after trying everything, they decided to file for divorce.
“Scott and Jaclyn had decided the marriage was over but continued to try to make it work,” the person claimed.
Both parties had independently filed for divorce and had now decided to split ways. June 2022 saw Jaclyn file for it for the first time, but she later withdrew it.
Later in May 2023, Stapp filed for the annulment of their marriage, as multiple media sources verified when the paperwork was turned in in Williamson County, Tennessee.
The frontman of Creed, 50, and his 43-year-old wife had three children together: Milan, 17, and two kids, 13-year-old Daniel and 6-year-old Anthony.
The musician also father Jagger , a 25-year-old kid he had with his ex-wife Hilaree Burns.
