‘People who criticize nepo infants don’t see all the rejections along the way,’ claims Emma Roberts.
Emma Roberts offered her opinion on the Hollywood “nepo babies” controversy.
In her June 25 interview on the Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi podcast, the 33-year-old actress noted that obstacles can arise for even Hollywood celebrities whose families work in the entertainment business.
“People kind of just see your wins cause they only see – when you’re on the movie poster,” said Emma, whose aunt is Julia Roberts and father is Eric Roberts.
She said, “They don’t see all the rejection along the way and that’s why I’m always really open about things that I’ve auditioned for and haven’t gotten the part for.”
The Madame Web actress went on to say that “otherwise people think everything’s been so great and linear and easy.” It’s “important to talk” about the rejections “nepo babies” have in their careers.
“Of course, from the outside, or to the unaided eye,” she said and signed off.
For the uninitiated, Emma is now occupied with marketing her next movie, Space Cadet. July 4, 2024, will see the premiere of the film on Prime Video.
