Kim Kardashian, Chloe Sevigny, and Jon Hamm highlight Variety’s controversial series
When fans learned Kim Kardashian would be joining Oscar-nominated actress Chloe Sevigny on Variety’s esteemed Actors on Actors series, it sparked a furious response.
With Kardashian having only acted in one television series, the news infuriated and confused online users.
Famously, the show features talented performers having discussions about their craft.
‘The top talents of this year’s Emmy season’ are highlighted in this year’s issue, claims the magazine.
Jon Hamm is on the list, along with Kardashian and Sevigny, who called her a “f**king idiot” in a 2012 interview.
Both, Kardashian in American Horror Story: Delicate and Sevigny in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, recently starred in films directed by the renowned Ryan Murphy.
Critics said the coupling was disrespectful to Sevigny, a seasoned series actress renowned for her commitment to her work.
“This is an insult and a slap in the face to Chloe, who actually is a series actor who loves the art,” one person wrote.
Another person berated the decision, bemoaning the entertainment industry’s focus on celebrity culture above important conversations.
“It is disheartening to observe how important discussions are still subordinated to celebrity culture. Many gifted actors deserve to be known for their work outside of sensational headlines, they said.
