Three years after their separation announcement, Sara Ramírez has filed for divorce from Ryan DeBolt.
The 48-year-old former ‘And Just Like That…’ star claimed irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce from DeBolt, whom they wed in 2012, in court records obtained by PEOPLE.
Ramírez, who prefers they/them pronouns and openly came out as non-binary in 2020, gave January 2018 as the separation date, more than three years before their social media announcement of the split.
As stated by Out Magazine, Ramírez said in a now-deleted July 2021 Instagram post, “Ryan and I are no longer together. We are still caring and encouraging while we choose to carve out our unique pathways.”
The statement went on, “Thank you for holding space around our choices and respecting our families’ privacy as we navigate this process on our terms.”
The former “Grey’s Anatomy” actor also asked the court to avoid providing spousal support to either party and division of their assets under the conditions of their prenuptial agreement in the divorce petition, which was first reported by TMZ.
