Jackson’s Touchdown and Tucker’s Six Field Goals Propel Ravens Football to 24-16 Victory Over Titans in London Showdown

In an electrifying showdown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Baltimore Ravens secured a 24-16 victory against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday. Lamar Jackson’s impressive touchdown pass and Justin Tucker’s immaculate 6-for-6 field goals ensured that the Ravens kept the upper hand throughout the game.

While Jackson was spectacular in his first international appearance, throwing 21 of 30 for 223 yards and contributing an additional 62 yards on foot, it was Tucker’s precision kicking, especially his longest kick of 41 yards, that truly caught the crowd’s attention.

Although the Ravens (4-2) showcased several significant plays, including Devin Duvernay’s sensational 70-yard punt return, they often struggled to wrap up their drives within the Titans’ territory.

Young sensation, rookie receiver Zay Flowers, dazzled the crowd by netting his maiden NFL touchdown after catching a 10-yard pass from Jackson. The Titans (2-4), on the other hand, seemed out of sorts, especially against the rejuvenated Ravens who had arrived in London a few days prior.

Tennessee’s quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, had to make an early exit post the third quarter due to an injury, making way for Malik Willis. Before leaving, Tannehill managed 8 of 16 for 76 yards.

Baltimore capitalized on Kyle Philips’ fumbled catch, leading to Tucker’s 29-yard field goal right after the first half.

However, the Titans regained some ground post-intermission. Derrick Henry’s notable 15-yard touchdown, combined with Sean Murphy-Bunting’s interception, rekindled hope for the Titans. Notably, Henry’s direct snap led him to storm 63 yards, marking his season’s longest run.

Yet, the Ravens football didn’t let up. Geno Stone’s critical interception halted the Titans’ momentum. While Baltimore did face challenges near the goal, Tucker ensured the scoreboard kept ticking with his consistent kicks, ending with a 24-16 lead.

In an interesting subplot, Nick Folk matched Tucker’s record by netting three field goals under 40 yards. Both players now hold the NFL record of 70 consecutive successful kicks from that distance.

Before the game commenced, a poignant moment of silence, in memory of the recent terror attack victims in Israel, was observed, albeit briefly interrupted.

Injuries did play a role in the game’s dynamics. The Titans’ Chris Moore and Josh Whyle were both evaluated for potential concussions.
