The actress stars the upcoming action movie “Trigger Warning” on Netflix.
Jessica Alba has gained a few lessons over her 16 years of marriage on how to maintain harmony with her husband Cash Warren.
The 43-year-old actress and businesswoman acknowledges that she and 45-year-old Warren work hard to put each other first. “It’s something you truly have to make a choice to do,” she advises PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “You have to truly find time to make time for each other.” They stop for each other even when their schedules are hectic. “Going through the motions of the daily is what it is, but it’s important to just know that we have to be a priority, and taking those moments to see each other and have a giggle and not be on the phone and just actually connect.”
Alba finds that maintaining perspective is also crucial in her marriage. “We just look around every time we ebb or flow and it’s like, ‘Actually, at my worst, I’m still better off with you,'” she says. “You have to ask yourself, ‘Would my life be better off apart?’ And each time it’s, “No.’ We’re friends, you know?”
Family time is particularly important with Honor, 16, Haven, 12, and Hayes, 6. “The girls and I were out of our zone at Monster Jam, but Hayes was incredibly eager to teach us everything. Alba continues, “He knew every car, every driver, every statistic. “It was the sweetest thing ever to see this 6-year-old dude, who we always bring into our environment, feel so confident.”
Now playing a knife-wielding Special Forces commando with amazing fighting abilities in the new Netflix action movie Trigger Warning, Alba, who left the Honest Company in April, is excited to concentrate on entertainment “and other industries that excite me,” she says.
“I consider Honest [Company] to be my fourth child; I feel like I sent it to college. As of right now, I’m just consuming what makes me happy, investing my energy in those things, and tending to my spirit.”
On 21 june is the Netflix premiere of Trigger Warning.
