Tom Cruise skips his daughter’s graduation to attend a concert
Suri Cruise, 18, daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, graduated from high school without her father.
Tom was in London for Taylor Swift’s concert, so Suri and her mother Katie celebrated at LaGuardia High School’s graduation ceremony at the United Palace Theatre.
Apart from Suri’s cordial hug with another graduate, pictures captured Katie and Suri beaming with happiness.
The graduation brochure had Suri’s name listed as “Suri Noelle,” which is unusual and suggests that she may have left off her father’s last name.
Suri accessorized her red graduation gown on the big day with a lovely white dress and completed the look with flower-adorned white sandals.
Katie, however, looked stunning in a collared long-sleeved top and a matching pale yellow suit.
Even if as a teenager Suri was living away from the spotlight, she has shown her musical talent professionally. In the opening titles of her 2022 movie Alone Together, Katie belts out a version of Blue Moon. Also singing was Suri in her mother’s 2023 film Rare Objects.
“I hope she always does something on my films. I always ask her” Katie said in 2023 to Glamour.
“But those two encounters sprang from the same aspect of our field that I find so wonderful: you work on these projects and grow to be like family to the people. It is this lovely, safe, creative place. So my inclusion of someone I adore comes from love.”
Suri, meanwhile, is off to college. Suri hinted earlier this month that Carnegie Mellon University is her intended college when she briefly appeared in a classmate’s TikTok video.
