Millie Bobby Brown Chooses ‘Stranger Things’ Co-Star Matthew Modine to Officiate Wedding

Millie Bobby Brown, known for her role in “Stranger Things,” has chosen Matthew Modine, her co-star from the hit Netflix series, to officiate her upcoming wedding to fiancé Jake Bongiovi.

In a conversation with Access Daily, Modine revealed his role in the nuptials, sharing that Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi approached him with the idea. “I have one of those licenses to get people married,” Modine shared, “and Millie thought it’d be great, and then Jake Bongiovi said it would be a great idea.”

Modine further disclosed, “So I wrote the wedding vows and they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and to become husband and wife.” The actor, who has been married for 44 years, expressed his joy in joining two people in holy matrimony, calling it “a beautiful thing.”

The announcement comes after Brown and Bongiovi, who have been dating for two years, shared their engagement news in April 2023. Brown took to Instagram to share the milestone moment, captioning the post with lyrics from Taylor Swift‘s song, “Cruel Summer.”

The couple’s connection extends beyond their personal lives, as Modine and Brown have shared the screen in “Stranger Things,” where Modine portrays Dr. Martin Brenner, Eleven’s father figure.

As fans eagerly anticipate the wedding, the choice to have Modine officiate adds a sentimental touch to the ceremony, bridging the worlds of fiction and reality for Brown and Bongiovi.
